Beautiful photos of a stunning flower. I love the connection with Edith Holden :) I noticed she visited "Balsall Temple" (as she calls it) this month and is full of praise for the area :). Although even in her time she failed to find two species of flower that once bloomed there. I so wish I could paint/draw like her!
Hi again - Further to previous comments, I have spoken to my blogger friend re: macro photography. If you wanted to go down the DSLR route - any would give good results with a macro lens e.g. Sigma 150. Make sure though the dslr is compatible with sigma lenses - I know my olympus can only use olympus lenses. You could consider a bridge camera such as the Panasonic FZ series or Canon SX - they have a lot of zoom power for the money apparently. I paid Temple Balsall NR a quick visit last week - what a lovely reserve! I found a Giant Bellflower but it was too dark for decent photos certainly nowhere near your standard!
