Bird Ringing

Week 2 ringing at the reserve was a success as most of us were better prepared for the cold and happily supplied with rocky road.  Most importantly there was a good catch of birds with a few more species added to the list!
In total we got 9 birds of 6 species, including a robin and great tit that we caught last week, obviously they like me!  I got a ringing tick with the first bird of the day, I'd seen about eight redwings flying around and luckily one went in the net.

So now there have been 16 different birds caught and 7 different species.  There's still a lot more there to catch so hopefully next week there will be a few more species to add to the list.
